- Tested by top trail runners and outdoor athletes, the full length MudGear Premium Long Compression Socks were over engineered to be tough and prevent nasty gashes caused by rope traverses and painful slides across other obstacles during Obstacle Race competition. This is the only compression sock built with a layer of padding on the lower leg and calf designed to protect from rope burn and other injuries. They are designed to drain quickly and remain light-weight for long distance OCR courses, mountain bike rides, or hikes. The 15-20 mmhg graduated compression helps to alleviate symptoms of various medical conditions. The Quarter Length Trail Socks were originally designed for OCR, but are perfect for any athlete that encounters mud, dirt, and water in their chosen sport. The MudGear 1/4 Crew Trail Sock was custom designed by accomplished footwear craftsman Nate Banks, who has designed footwear for several top sports brands. Nate was drawn to the challenge of designing a sock for a sport that included long miles and full submersion in water. The result is a strongly functional trail sock with exciting performance features that all athletes can enjoy. A relatively high-ankle band is tight enough to keep out dirt and rocks, but is not a tight compression fit. There is good ventilation on the lower arch and upper foot to promote air flow and drainage. The sock wears comfortably despite being built to shed water quickly.
