There were claims back then that he was put on death row after killing a fellow inmate who made sexual advancements towards him. But these claims were later refuted by journalists, penitentiary workers, and legal experts. And in response to a ‘70s article published by Rolling Stone refuting his claims, he wrote the song I’d Like To Kick The Shit Out Of You. Nothing Cooler.
