- From the liner notes: The Redline Rockets were created in the way that many bands are born. Someone in a band - perhaps a very good band - becomes dissatisfied. Perhaps it is a yearning to do something else, maybe a money problem, some slight that can not be tolerated, or perhaps all three. Next thing you know, they're talking to a guy who knows a guy who's looking to start a new band. Pretty soon they're rocking out in a cramped and dingy basement, conjuring up the ghosts of Elvis, Gene, and Eddie, or John and George. The four principals of the Redline Rockets come together from four corners of the musical map, each a refugee in his own way, looking for a new musical home. Where they come together is where it all began: Memphis, Tennessee and the musical big-bang set in motion by Scotty Moore, Bill Black and the kid from Tupelo, when the frustrated future superstar began beating the hell out of his guitar and crooning Arthur Crudup's "That's All Right". They called it rock-a-billy and it bridged worlds that once seemed far apart: Country, R&B, and the new kid on the block, Rock & Roll. What you hold in your hand is a recording of modern original and classic rock-a-billy created by the Redline Rockets. It merges and expands the influences of the four members, remains true to rock-a-billy's origins, and catapults the genre itself into the future. They call it "Rock-A-Billy & Beyond". We just call in damn good music. Michael Baird - mans the doghouse bass with calloused fingers honed by many years of hard core rock-a-billy Tim Wallace - Six string slinger, veteran of many forgotten blues, soul, R&B, and rock bands, his magic trunk filled with lick and tricks of the guitar gods who came before him. Ricky Dean Haffey - has a soulful voice and crisp rhythm guitar chops forged in the often brutal world of the solo singer-songwriter. Jesse Carraway - expertly plies the skins from decades steeped in surf and instrumental rock.
