The XEL is an insulation-piercing heavy-duty macro-hook adapter with (2) banana sockets (jacks). The needle on the test hook contact blade pierces a wires insulation to make direct and instant contact to the wire conductor. This provides quick and accurate diagnostic work on hard-to-reach wires. A small incision is left upon removal of needle for long-lasting use. Commonly used in applications where reaching the ends of wire is difficult or in delicate environments when stripping and cutting wire is not recommended. This is a set of 2 assorted colors: black and red. Commonly used in conjunction with a digital multimeter (DMM) for electrical measurements and diagnostic testing.

Heavy-duty insulation-piercing macro-hook (E-Z-Macro-Hook) with (2) standard banana sockets. Housing material is molded nylon. The material of the piercing needle and spring are stainless steel inside an insulated shaft with no sliding contacts. This ensures accurate test results. Total hook length is 5.68 inches (144.22 mm). Chisel-tip (screwdriver) design easily separates a single wire in dense wire groups for easy connection. V-groove design of the tip seats the wire properly for contact and obtains instant continuity by activating the piercing needle. The narrow body design makes testing easy in smaller, hard to reach areas. The T-Shaped handle has shrouded banana sockets on either side, in order to allow technicians to easily plug in test leads from any angle and to get straight to work for diagnostic testing. The banana sockets allow for (2) banana plug test lead connections on either side of the hooks T-handle to test multiple components at the same time, acting as a continuous jumper. Double banana sockets (jacks) on test hook accepts/connects to standard (4 mm) shrouded or unshrouded male banana plugs. Insulation-piercing needle on the contact blade pierces most 14-28 AWG wire or a max wire diameter of 0.15 inches. Piercing needle maintains wire integrity after removal of needle from insulation. Spring loaded, insulation-piercing connection provides sufficient force in order to hold the insulation-piercing needle in place to ensure a strong and reliable connection for electrical testing.
