Filled with non-toxic silica gel, the hot cold therapy remains pliable throughout treatment. These hot pack can be warmed in the microwave to help relax muscle and increase blood flow or cooled in the freezer to help reduce swelling, reduce blood flow and promote healing. Use as cold therapy: Cold therapy should always be used as soon as possible after an injury occurs and continued for the following 48 hours at 15 to 20 minute intervals or as advised by a medical professional. Put the gel pack in a freezer for at least two hours and apply to your body. It is safe and effective to reduce swelling, relieving pain and decrease muscle spasms, which are highly recommended by Physical Therapists and Sports Trainers. Used as hot therapy: Hot packs physical therapy should not be used until 48 hours after the injury. Warmed the hot therapy pack by boil in hot water or by microwave. Boiling Water: Heated in boiling water for 2 to 5 minutes. Use tongs to remove the pack from the water. Microwave: Heated for 20-second intervals until the pack reaches the desired temperature. After removing from the microwave, knead and flex the gel-pack to even out the heat. For additional benefits, users can place a damp towel around the heated pack for moist heat therapy.
