Used as hot therapy: Hot packs physical therapy should not be used until 48 hours after the injury. Warmed the hot therapy pack by boil in hot water or by microwave. Boiling Water: Heated in boiling water for 2 to 5 minutes. Use tongs to remove the pack from the water. Microwave: Heated for 20-second intervals until the pack reaches the desired temperature. After removing from the microwave, knead and flex the gel-pack to even out the heat.
