And if you have a stationary truck, you want the cleat to be in line with the pulley, which should also be beside the dominant winds. WHAT ARE THEY MADE OF? Cast aluminum construction ensures strength, longevity, and durability for flag pole hardware and accessories. HOW TO USE THEM? First off, pull your halyard rope nice and tight. Then, wrap the loose end around your cleat – either in a circle or in a figure-eight. And with the last two wraps, put a twist in the halyard before looping it on so that it holds tightly.
