- This product contain 2 bulbs 2 ballasts and accessories for standard installation 9005 (HB3) Bulb Specifications General Bulb type: 9005 / HB3 Base: PX29t (plastic keyed, 3 locking tabs) Application: High beam (most common), sometimes low beam or fog lights Operating voltage: 12.8V nominal (works in 12V automotive systems) Wattage (halogen OEM): 65W Current draw: ~5.1 A @ 12.8V Dimensions Overall length: ~82 mm (3.2 in) Glass length: ~32 mm (1.25 in) Glass diameter: ~8–10 mm (0.3–0.4 in) Base diameter: ~31–32 mm (1.25 in) Mounting flange thickness: ~12 mm (0.47 in) Light Output (Halogen OEM) Lumens: ~1,700–1,860 lm (new halogen bulb, varies by brand) Color temperature: ~3200K (warm white/yellowish) Rated life: ~320 hours (typical for high beam duty cycle) HID Conversion Kit Specs (common aftermarket) Wattage: 35W (standard) or 55W (high-output kits) Voltage: Requires ballast (12V in → 85V AC output to arc tube) Luminous flux: 3,000–3,800 lm (about 2× halogen brightness for 35W, up to 4,500 lm for 55W) Color temperatures available: 4300K (OEM HID white, maximum brightness) 5000K (pure white) 6000K (white with slight blue) 8000K+ (blue-purple, less usable light) Lifespan: ~2,000 hours (varies by ballast quality and heat management) Installation Guide — 9005 Xenon HID Kit 1. Preparation Tools: Screwdrivers, zip ties, gloves. Safety: Disconnect the vehicle’s battery (at least the negative terminal). Check kit contents: Two HID bulbs (9005 type), two ballasts (and igniters if separate), wiring harness/adapters, mounting brackets. 2. Install HID Bulbs Open hood, locate the stock 9005 halogen bulb socket. Twist and remove the old halogen bulb (don’t touch halogen glass — oil shortens lifespan). Insert the 9005 HID bulb into the housing, making sure it locks in properly and beam is aligned. ⚠️ Don’t touch HID bulb glass either — handle by the base. 3. Mount Ballasts Find a dry, secure location near the headlight housing (avoid heat sources like radiator/fans). Use screws, 3M tape, or supplied brackets to mount the ballast. Keep wiring short, avoid sharp bends, and use zip ties for neatness. 4. Wiring Connections Connect HID bulb → ballast output (usually 2-pin connector). Connect ballast input → stock 9005 vehicle plug. If your kit has a relay harness (recommended): Harness connects directly to battery positive and ground, with a fuse. Uses the OEM headlight plug only as a trigger signal. Ensures stable voltage, reduces flicker. 5. Testing Reconnect the battery. Switch headlights ON. HID bulb should ignite with a bluish flash, then stabilize to white (or selected color temp). If working, re-install dust covers and secure all wiring. troubshooting guide: | Problem | Likely Cause | Solution | | -------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | **One side doesn’t turn on** | Loose connector, defective ballast/bulb, polarity reversed | Swap bulb/ballast side to side to isolate fault; check polarity (HID connectors sometimes aren’t keyed). | | **Both sides don’t turn on** | Blown fuse, harness not connected, relay not grounded | Check headlight fuse, ensure relay harness ground is on bare metal, test with direct 12V to ballast. | | **Flickering / intermittent shutoff** | Insufficient voltage (modern cars have CANBUS monitoring) | Add relay harness, or CANBUS decoder/capacitor (anti-flicker). | | **Bulb color mismatch** | Bulb not burned in yet, ballast inconsistency | Let both run for 20–30 hrs; replace in pairs if one ages differently. | | **Bulb won’t fit housing** | Wrong bulb size (H11 vs 9005) | Double-check kit size — 9005 has different locking tabs than 9006/HB3. | | **Dashboard error / bulb out warning** | Vehicle CANBUS system detects low resistance | Install CANBUS error canceller/decoder module inline. | | **Buzzing or radio interference** | Poorly shielded ballast | Relocate ballast away from antenna wires; use ferrite core clips on wiring. |
