Compatible with up to 64 Tapo Sub-1G switches, sensors, or buttons + 16 Tapo cameras or video doorbells. Sensors can include door sensors, window sensors, motion sensors, and water leak detectors. With no monthly fees, the H500 includes both 16GB of built-in local storage plus support for added storage with no capacity limit via a 2.5'' SATA HDD/SSD (5V power/10W max operating watts, sold separately). The hub includes everything needed to get started: one Tapo H500 unit, four screws for mounting, a 4.9 ft 12V DC power adapter, an RJ45 Ethernet cable, and a quick start guide. Built with a clean, compact design, the hub measures 6.31 x 3.89 x 3.28 inches and weighs 1.3 lbs. It features a range of useful ports and buttons, including 1x USB 2.0 Port, 1x USB Type-C Port, 1x HDMI Port, 1x LAN Port, 1x Power Port, 1x Reset Button, 1x Answer/SYNC Button, 1x Decline/Mute Button, and 1x Volume Down Button. The Tapo H500 supports a wide range of integration options, including compatibility with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and any Matter-compatible controller. For Matter devices that rely on Thread, a separate Thread hub is required. This Matter hub operates reliably in environments ranging from 32°F to 104°F, with humidity levels of 10% to 90% (non-condensing). The hub also meets key security standards of FCC, CE, RoHS, and WEEE, and features 128-bit AES encryption with SSL/TLS and WPA2-PSK/WPA3-Personal protocols for enhanced data protection. Batteries are included, with an average life span of 3 to 5 years. The hub also ensures reliable operation through flexible networking options, supporting both Wi-Fi and wired connections through a router, with the latter serving as a dependable backup.
